WHAT IS THE FOAM ROLLER?

It is a roller made of thermoplastic polymer, which has prominences that facilitate self massage. There are different models and sizes of Foam Roller, from softer to harder and of different material, shorter or longer depending on the area we want to treat.

WHAT IS MIOFASCIAL MASSAGE?

The whole body is covered with a connective tissue known as fascia. The layer that involves the muscles is called myofascia.

The myofascial release is a therapy that is based on the application of movements and pressures that seeks to release the mobility restrictions of the system, returning the glides between all the tissues of the body in order to prevent pain and mobility problems

WHEN TO USE?

  • BEFORE THE EFFORT: The application of the roller used quickly and superficially stimulates blood flow, providing the musculature with an increase in heat and the arrival of oxygen, which functions as a preheating to thus have the musculature in an optimal state before making any physical effort preventing injuries.
  • POST EFFORT: Performing it slowly, helps decrease the appearance of the DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscular Soreness) commonly referred to as stiffness, and helps muscle stretching.
  • ACTIVE REST: You can use the rest day as a tool to release tension and improve blood flow as well as to improve joint amplitude.
